This trail is located in Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, as its name suggests, expect to encounter many wildlife. It is home to some 200 bird species, including Wilson's snipe, bobolink and the northern saw-whet owl. The Beall Trail Loop scenery is exceptional and always changing. There are some side trail options throughout the loop leading to the Blackwater River, you might see sights of beaver activity. The refuge does allow dogs but they must be leashed and stay on pedestrian trails.
